Threat profile
Book themed spirit hero. Captivating Read locks you in place, Rallying Charge knocks enemies around, Bookwyrm is a summoned dragon, and Plot Armor protects her.
Key principle
Paige's control is Captivating Read. Stop that and kill her summon, and she has little else.
Paige is a relatively new hero (ability renames Bookwyrm/Plot Armor); counter item meta is still settling.
Lane phase items≈ 0-10 min
- Enchanter's Emblem spirit damage.
- Monster Rounds kills Bookwyrm faster.
- Spirit Sap lowers her spirit power.
- Reactive Barrier gives you a barrier the moment Captivating Read hits you, and later upgrades into Indomitable.
Mid game items≈ 10-25 min
- Counterspell How to use: parry as Captivating Read reaches you. Her follow up has nothing to hit.
- Dispel Magic removes her debuffs.
- Spirit Resilience core spirit armor.
- Knockdown stops her channels.
- Silence Wave shuts down her casting.

Late game items≈ 25 min +
- Indomitable cleanses Captivating Read or Rallying Charge.
- Cursed Relic full lockdown.
- Witchmail heavy spirit resist.
- Focus Lens silences her for 4.5 seconds and lowers her spirit power.
Patch note
10-05-2026: Paige BUFFED, Heavy Melee spirit scaling 0.3 to 0.45 and Captivating Read T1 cooldown 11s to 14s (she immobilizes more often), T3 range +1m to +2m. Build Monster Rounds sooner, and expect the Captivating Read on a shorter cooldown, Dispel or Counterspell it.

- Kill her summon first, Bookwyrm does the damage. Binding Word during her cast; Plot Armor doesn't grant root immunity.
- Last Stand keeps her in range and the tether outlasts her summon's usefulness.
- Willpower cleanses her DoT debuffs, but at 30% resist it's a fallback, Dispel is the reliable purge.
