How to counter Lady Geist in Deadlock
Spirit hero. Counter items for lane, mid and late game, and tips for the hero you play.
Updated for patch 10-05-2026. Counter profile from 2026-10-06.
Threat profile
Spirit mage who spends her own health. Essence Bomb bursts you, Life Drain channels to steal health, Malice stacks a debuff, and Soul Exchange swaps health with you.
Key principle
She lowers her own health to cast. Punish her right after a big combo, and blunt her burst with spirit armor.
Lane phase items≈ 0-10 min
- Enchanter's Emblem pure spirit damage.
- Spirit Shielding barrier against Essence Bomb.
- Healbane Life Drain and Soul Exchange heal her.
- Spirit Sap lowers her spirit power.
- Reactive Barrier gives you a barrier the moment the Soul Exchange silence hits you, and later upgrades into Indomitable.
Mid game items≈ 10-25 min
- Counterspell How to use: Essence Bomb has a delay before it lands. Parry right as it hits you. It also blocks Soul Exchange if you parry as she casts it on you.
- Knockdown breaks Life Drain.
- Spirit Resilience core spirit armor.
- Decay strong anti heal.
- Dispel Magic removes Malice stacks.
