How to counter Lash in Deadlock
Spirit hero. Counter items for lane, mid and late game, and tips for the hero you play.

Threat profile
Aerial assassin. Ground Strike slams down and damages in a line, Flog whips you and heals him, Grapple moves him through the air, and Death Slam grabs everyone nearby and smashes them down.
Key principle
Lash plays from above. Look up, keep your distance when his ult is ready, and ground him when you can.
Lane phase items≈ 0-10 min
- Enchanter's Emblem his damage is spirit.
- Healbane Flog heals him.
- Slowing Hex silences Grapple and raises his gravity.
- Mystic Slow your spirit damage slows him, and slows now also drag air movement.
Mid game items≈ 10-25 min
- Counterspell How to use: parry at the moment Death Slam tries to grab you. You aren't lifted, and the ult misses you completely. Also works on Ground Strike.
- Knockdown he's in the air a lot, where the stun is longer.
- Spirit Resilience core spirit armor.
- Decay strong anti heal.
- Dispel Magic removes his slows and debuffs.
Advertisement
Late game items≈ 25 min +
- Indomitable cleanses Death Slam or the Ground Strike drag.
- Unstoppable ignore Death Slam while it's active.
- Witchmail heavy spirit resist.
- Cursed Relic full lockdown.
- Ethereal Shift phase out when Death Slam is coming.
- Vortex Web traps him in an area so Grapple can't get him out.
Patch note
10-05-2026: Lash mixed. Gun falloff nerfed (weaker at range) and Flog heal cut 50% to 40% (his sustain is worse, good for you), but Ground Strike T3 hits harder (spirit + per meter scaling up). Grapple's weapon damage buff duration was cut 10s to 6s. Net: less sustain, more Ground Strike burst. And because slows now drag air drag, slow items finally help pin him.

- Gloom Bombs him mid Grapple; Leaping Slash away from Death Slam.
Celeste
- Contest his air; Light Eater burst him, watch the skybox for Death Slam.
Drifter
- Stalker's Mark him mid air; anti heal his Flog, Eternal Night hides you from Death Slam.

- Kinetic Pulse him out of a Grapple; Singularity him grounded.

- Don't group in the open, spread so his ult only catches one target.
Wraith
