How to counter Mo & Krill in Deadlock

Threat profile
Burrowing bruiser. Scorn drains you, Burrow moves him underground, Sand Blast knocks you back, and Combo holds one target in place while draining them.
Key principle
Combo is a single target lock. Know before the fight which item or parry you'll use to break it.
Lane phase items≈ 0-10 min
- Enchanter's Emblem mostly spirit damage.
- Healbane Scorn and Combo heal him.
- Reactive Barrier barrier the moment Combo or Burrow hits you.
- Slowing Hex silences Burrow movement and raises his gravity.
Mid game items≈ 10-25 min
- Counterspell How to use: Combo is instant, so you have to be early. When he's in range with ult ready, parry as he goes for you. If he casts inside your parry window, Combo is blocked.
- Knockdown a stun on him breaks Combo, great for saving a teammate.
- Decay strong anti heal.
- Spirit Resilience core spirit armor.
- Silence Wave silence him before he can ult.
- Dispel Magic removes his slows and debuffs.
- Rescue Beam heal a teammate caught in Combo and pull them back toward you.

Late game items≈ 25 min +
- Indomitable cleanses Combo automatically.
- Cursed Relic interrupts Combo on a teammate instantly.
- Unstoppable walk out of Combo.
- Witchmail heavy spirit resist.
Patch note
10-05-2026: no direct Mo & Krill change. He can no longer be melee knocked out of Burrow, so don't rely on that. Knockup duration scales with debuff reduction now, so Sand Blast hangtime is shorter if you carry Debuff Reducer/Dispel. Your CC breaks the Combo channel, have Unstoppable/Dispel ready before he ults.

- Riposte his Burrow surface stun; anti heal his Scorn, break Combo with a dash or cleanse.

- Hook him on Burrow surface; anti heal his sustain, deny the Combo target.
Billy
- Bashdown his Burrow surface; silence him, anti heal his Scorn.
Calico
- Gloom Bombs him; Leaping Slash out of Combo, anti heal his sustain.
Celeste
- Float over Sand Blast; Light Eater burst him, anti heal his Scorn.
Drifter
- Stalker's Mark him on surface; anti heal his Scorn, break the Combo lock.
Dynamo
- Kinetic Pulse his Burrow surface; Singularity him, anti heal his sustain.

Venator
- Snap Trap his surface spot; Gutshot him, anti heal his Scorn.
Victor
- Combo into your revive is a bad trade for him. Keep Jumpstart for his Burrow stun.
Vindicta
- Assassinate him on surface; Crow stun his Burrow, anti heal.
Viscous
- Cube the Combo target; Puddle Punch out of Sand Blast, anti heal Scorn.
Vyper
- Ammo burst him on surface; Petrifying Bola him, anti heal his Scorn.
Warden
- Combo ult is a single target channel, Dispel or Unstoppable breaks it. Decide which you're holding BEFORE he engages.
- Binding Word him during the Burrow surface windup for a full cancel. Last Stand denies his disengage, he can't Burrow out of the tether.
- Willpower mitigates Scorn ticks while you fight, and still helps against the Combo drain, but Dispel/Unstoppable are the true breaks.
Wraith
- Telekinesis lift him on surface; Full Auto him, anti heal his Scorn.
Yamato
- Crimson Slash out sustains his Scorn; Flying Slash him on surface, Crimson Slash cleanses the Combo.
